Below is a screenshot of how the shopping cart looks when customers add products to the cart. Example Shopping Cart Screenshot Demo of the WordPress PayPal Shopping Cart Plugin
The ten shopping cart plugins we’ve listed above all provide the basic features you’ll need to get up and running, but each also has their own unique features. If you take the time to investigate the functionality of each solution, we’re sure you’ll find one that suits your particular e-commerce needs.
Finally a note for developers/designers. The extension costs quoted above are for a single you license. The good new is that for $20 more you get 5 licenses! Spreading your cost across multiple clients. Nice one.
The add-on can display various elements for product such as – name, thumbnail, price, E-commerce filters, E-commerce Minicart.
Operating in over 170 countries, CS-Cart has proven to be fit for international retail. Consequently, it features 70 different payment processors. You’ll never have to worry about payment processing.
When enabled, it can also receive payment via PayPal for product sale, services and donations.
Depending on your hosting provider, you might get some basic assistance. If you’re not a technical user, though, you might need a professional developer for occasional maintenance. The cart is built on the standard LAMP stack, so finding a qualified dev should be a walk in the park.
I already had a copy of the cart.php in my child-theme, so quickly added some Bootstrap attributes to my cart.php file to get the same result as this post and fixed/override some default WooCommerce styling. I’ll add some Unique Selling Points and maybe a FAQ later on, but it works & looks perfect, on all devices.
Yet, it would be unfair not to mention any alternatives. nopCommerce is based on ASP.NET (MVC) and runs MSSQL, and it works on Windows Server 2008R2 and above.
Once you do install it, WooCommerce gives you a quick tour to help you find all the key features. Using the plugin is pretty similar to navigating WordPress. The dashboard makes it easy to find all the options and handle basic retail management activities.
Hello, using WP 2.8.4, Atahualpa 3.4.3 Theme, NextGEN Gallery 1.3.6, Simple WordPress Shopping Cart Plugin v2.3. The Button and shopping cart seems to work just fine “standalone”. But when intergrated into NextGen Gallery ( i.e. when trigger text is inserted within the picture Description field), the web page displays my product description and the trigger text instead of the button.
Selling your own products is truly one of the best ways to make money online, and it can be done with a handy little plugin.
It does mean that you have full access to the code that runs the website, which you don’t have when you opt for a hosted shopping cart. Typically, you own the code or pay a license for using the code and any modifications to that code. You or your developer can make any modifications to that code.
And although the shopping carts themselves are free, chances are you will use some of their add-ons and this is an additional investment. Again, this might not be a bad thing for some of you but others may have a strict budget.
